Branding

I was lucky enough to have a mentor at the beginning of my career. Glen Greenhill (website) a brand and advertising guru, he taught me a lot about branding and conceptualizing. We worked together on many projects over the years and I learned how to apply this on my first re-branding  job for CYP.

In 2006 Cyp asked me to re-brand their company as it was about to expand into the European Market. It needed a professional face for trade shows and to stand out in the market. I started out by defining what CYP were, what they offered, how were they different to anyone else in the industry? After several interviews I had with the MD and other staff, I was able to create a brand strategy to ensure a strong and focused message.

The first thing I needed to do was to audit CYP’s assets, then create the brand image and iconography.

Once we had the brand logo, mission statement and brand tag line in place I moved onto CYP’s sister company Lektropacks.
I wanted to design a strong but simple unified theme that would be instantly recognizable in industry and trade magazines,
where most of the companies marketing materials would be shown.

From magazine add to TV adds, over 100 product packaging designs, product range icons, trade show set designs, to staff training, I covered many aspects of marketing and branding to give CYP a new voice and look with a clear focused strategy to use the brand in achieving their future goals.

I would end up working with both companies for just over 3 years.
In that time I had conceived and created 2 distinctive brands which are recognized throughout the industry, for their quality and professional standards. They have since grown in size and are continuing to prove themselves at the top of their trade.
